How Are We Going to Produce a Major Opera in the Adirondacks?

“The rural community of the North Country plays a major role in the third of our “Spotlight” series of stories detailing the formation of “Promised Land: an Adirondack Folk Opera.” Community leaders, historians, grandparents, teachers and high school students have all contributed to the development of an opera that relates the story of an 1840s settlement in North Elba, New York, named Timbuctoo.  Composer Glenn McClure says community involvement has helped him create an opera grounded in ideas from the local region where the history happened.” Read More HERE at Mountain Lake PBS.
